寺島洋平は構造体が生み出す光の美を追求しています。
技術者として光と向き合う中で炎や月のような、機能性を超えて人の感覚に働きかける光の在り方へ関心を深めてきた。
以来、寺島は人間的創造性によってのみ成立する光の構造体を探求している。
そこでは造形そのものが目的ではなく形を介して現れる光の現象、その光が感情や経験に与える作用こそが制作の中心に置かれている。
非物質的な光とそれを成立させる物理的構造体。
寺島の制作はその相関関係を視覚芸術として掘り下げる試みである。



Yohei Terashima
Yohei Terashima explores the beauty of light emerging from structure.
Through his work as an engineer, he has engaged deeply with light, gradually shifting his focus toward forms such as flame or moonlight—light that moves beyond function and resonates with human perception.
Since then, Terashima has pursued structures of light that can only be realized through human creativity.
In his practice, form is not the end in itself; rather, it is the phenomenon of light that appears through form, and the way it shapes emotion and experience, that lies at the core.
Non-material light and the physical structures that make it possible—
his work is an attempt to explore this relationship as a form of visual art.
